Michigan Car Insurance Requirements
The state of Michigan follows a No-Fault system meaning your insurance company will make payments for your injury claims regardless of fault, up to a specified limit

You must carry a minimum of:
- $20,000 of coverage for injuries or death to one person in a single accident.
- $40,000 of coverage for injuries or deaths to more than one person in a single accident.
- $10,000 of property damage coverage.
You must also carry personal injury protection (PIP) and property protection insurance (PPI).
Proof of Insurance:
You need to carry your certificate of insurance. If you let your insurance lapse, your license could be suspended.
